Above is a sample of and the link to illustrator M.S. Corley’s redesigns of the Harry Potter series. I think they are totally awesome and an interesting take on the coverart.
It totally reminds me of the edition of Animal Farm by Orwell that Penguin put out sometime ago (around middle school, I think). That cover and these are very modernistic and far less childish than the current American covers for HP.
I think that if the series was re-published with this coverart in the future, it could potentially change the books from being a mere children series to a legit classic literature series. I think, with the right outlook, HP is good enough for that status anyways. I know I’ll urge my children to read my copies.
